Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ministers Seek International Investment in Tourism at World Travel Mart in London

KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Minister of Tourism Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel, alongside Federal Tourism Minister Wasi Shah, highlighted the potential for international investment in the tourism sector of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province during the opening ceremony of the World Travel Mart event in London.

According to Directorate General Public Relation, the province was prominently featured at the Pakistan Pavilion of the World Travel Mart, attracting significant attention from delegates, investors, and tourists. Minister Kakakhel engaged with various organizations and potential investors, advocating for the development initiatives undertaken by the provincial government to modernize the tourism sector and showcasing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s natural beauty and religious sites.

The Minister pointed to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s diverse landscapes, from verdant valleys to towering mountain peaks, as prime areas for tourism development. He emphasized the region’s capacity to cater to nature enthusiasts and those interested in religious history, particularly Buddhist heritage sites. The conversations with international stakeholders were also an opportunity for the provincial minister to extend an invitation to investors, reassuring them of the government’s full support in their tourism ventures.

At the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stall within the Pakistan Pavilion, cultural and traditional items, along with handicrafts, clothing, and informative materials such as documentaries, brochures, and pamphlets, were displayed to educate visitors and investors about the region’s tourism opportunities.

The participation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority in the World Travel Mart 2023, which is among the largest global travel trade shows, signifies a strategic move to draw international tourists to the province. The event, which connects travel buyers with over 5,000 destinations and brands worldwide, is set to run until November 8, 2023.

The initiative marks a proactive effort by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to boost the tourism industry through global exposure and investment attraction, aiming to present the province as a key destination for international tourism.
