Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Minister of Local Government and Sewerage, Engineer Aamir Durrani, announced the continuation of the online open court series to address public complaints. The initiative aims to resolve issues promptly and ensure compliance within a week.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister Durrani emphasized the government’s priority to provide facilities to the people and improve the service delivery system. He also highlighted the need for merit-based recruitment under the DCS Sun Quota without further delay. In a recent meeting with key officials, including Local Government Secretary Daud Khan and others, the Minister discussed various public grievances received through telephone calls and social media during the online open court sessions.
The complaints addressed a range of issues, from sanitation in Peshawar’s Syedabad Gulbahar Colony to village council funds in Mansehra, and from birth and death certificates in Nowshera to sewerage system concerns in Haripur. The Minister ordered immediate remedies for these issues, demonstrating a proactive approach to local governance.
The Minister also planned to discuss the issue of funding shortages with the caretaker Finance Minister and scheduled a meeting for the following week. The online open court has become an effective platform for citizens across different districts to voice their concerns directly to government officials, thereby increasing transparency and accountability in local governance.
