Peshawar, In response to recent flooding and anticipated additional rainfall, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Irrigation Minister Aqibullah Khan conducted a thorough assessment of the affected areas in Peshawar and Charsadda, directing local authorities to accelerate relief and safety measures.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during his visit, Minister Khan met with local officials and community elders to review the damage caused by the rains and the ongoing threats to the region. He emphasized the need for the Department of Irrigation, along with the Relief and Settlement Department, Municipalities, and Local Administration, to implement all necessary precautions to mitigate further flood damage and support affected residents.
Minister Khan underscored the urgency of his directives by pointing out the weather forecasts predicting more rain. He ordered the officials of the Irrigation Department to intensify their monitoring of river and canal levels to manage the flood situation proactively.
