Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Launches Online App to Enhance Wheat Procurement Transparency

Peshawar, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced a new online application designed to streamline the wheat procurement process, ensuring fairness and transparency for local farmers and suppliers. Announced by Food Minister Zahir Shah Toro, this digital initiative marks a significant step in modernizing agricultural transactions in the province.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister Toro explained in a video statement that the app allows farmers and suppliers to directly inform the food department about the availability of wheat, facilitating a more efficient procurement process. He outlined that the app includes detailed instructions and requirements for transactions, ensuring that all parties understand the procedures and standards expected.

The app will be used exclusively for local farmers from May 7 to May 17, after which it will open to suppliers from other provinces. Minister Toro also noted that this local innovation has garnered attention from federal and Punjab governments, which are planning to adopt similar technology.
