Peshawar, In response to recent floodings in the Charsadda district triggered by heavy rains, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Provincial Labor Minister Fazal Shakoor Khan has conducted a thorough inspection of the affected areas, initiating urgent reconstruction of damaged infrastructure.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister Khan’s visit followed directives from the Chief Minister to swiftly assess and respond to the devastation. Accompanied by key district administration officials, engineers, and other departmental officers, Khan visited several villages including Hisara Yasinzai, Khyali Pul, Merah Khel, Arbab Korona, Ababkri, Qalfi Korona Nawan Kale, and Aliankot to inspect and evaluate the protective embankments.
During the visits, the minister and his team reviewed ongoing work and instructed the swift completion of essential repairs, particularly in Agra village where floodwaters caused significant damage to protective embankments. The executive engineer of the Irrigation Department and his team gathered data on-site to expedite the preparation of project documents (PC-1) for reconstruction works.
Minister Khan assured the public that emergency measures are underway to repair and reinforce embankments, particularly the significant flood-induced cracks along the Kabul River in Agra village. He confirmed that efforts to commence reconstruction in Dagi Mukram Khan are also imminent. These actions are part of a broader provincial strategy to mitigate future flood risks and safeguard vulnerable communities.
