Karachi, In a significant meeting at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ministry of Industry and Trade, Caretaker Minister Dr. Amir Abdullah engaged with Shaheen Khan, a representative of Shaheen Arms Engineering, a prominent local hunting arms manufacturer.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the discussion centered around the arms industry’s growth and international reach. Shaheen Arms Engineering, based on Kohat Road, Peshawar, specializes in producing hunting guns and related equipment. The company has successfully exported its products to Tanzania, Nigeria, Canada, the Philippines, and Kuwait. The representative highlighted the international recognition gained by their products due to high quality and modernization.
During the meeting, the need for government support was emphasized. The representative urged the Ministry of Commerce to aid in showcasing their products at international arms exhibitions, a move seen as crucial for boosting domestic exports through the industry. He also advocated for government-provided tax exemptions on the import of modern machinery and support in importing raw materials and parts, to facilitate the production of international-level hunting arms locally.
The caretaker minister, acknowledging the local company’s contributions to the hunting weapons industry, expressed his appreciation for their efforts in manufacturing advanced, technology-dependent hunting weapons. He assured that the ministry would extend possible support to the industry association in this regard.
