Peshawar, In a significant move to ensure the integrity of the upcoming 2024 elections, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced plans to install CCTV cameras at all polling stations across the province. This decision underscores the government’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, presided over a meeting in Peshawar on Saturday, where he expressed satisfaction with the current arrangements for the general elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Chaudhry emphasized that ensuring elaborate security measures, including the installation of CCTV cameras at polling stations, is a top priority for the government.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen election security and enhance transparency in the electoral process. The use of CCTV cameras is expected to deter potential irregularities and misconduct at polling stations, thereby reinforcing public confidence in the electoral process.
