Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Initiates Online Open Court for Livestock Issues

Peshawar, In a pioneering move, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, under the direction of Caretaker Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Food, and Forests Asif Rafiq, and the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has launched an online open court for addressing issues faced by the people in the livestock sector. This digital portal is a significant step towards immediate problem-solving and accessibility for the public.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a meeting was held where Secretary Livestock, Fisheries, and Cooperative Dr. Muhammad Asrar, alongside other officials, listened to the concerns raised by farmers through the online platform. The meeting was attended by Director General Livestock Extension Dr. Alamzeb Mohmand, Director General Livestock Research Dr. Ijaz Ali, Director General Fisheries Dr. Husro Kaleem, Cooperative Registrar Farhan Khan, and other staff members.

The online forum proved to be a productive platform with over 50 citizens recording their problems via online and video calls. Issues discussed included the lack of livestock medicines, quality concerns, establishment of laboratories, timely vaccine supply, cooperative bank funding, fish hatchery farms, mobile veterinary clinic shortages, and challenges faced in model dairy farms and animal treatment in hospitals.

Most of the participating landowners expressed appreciation for the government and the Department of Livestock’s efforts towards the development and prosperity of the agricultural community. Secretary Livestock Dr. Mohammad Asrar recognized the usefulness of the suggestions provided online and assured that steps would be taken for their implementation.

The initiative aims at timely and comprehensive measures to resolve public issues, identify development gaps, and address delays in government projects. The Livestock Secretary emphasized the importance of prioritizing the resolution of these issues, given the significant reliance of rural employment on the livestock sector.

This online open court represents a significant step towards enhancing the efficiency and responsiveness of the government in addressing the needs and concerns of the agricultural and livestock communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
