Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Accelerates Tourism and Culture Projects

Peshawar, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has mandated the swift completion of its current tourism and culture initiatives, emphasizing the modernization of archaeological sites and enhancing visitor experiences through advanced digital marketing strategies. This directive aims to elevate the province’s profile as a prime cultural and tourist destination.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Tourism, Culture, and Archeology Zahid Chinzeb outlined these priorities during his assessment visit to the Provincial Tourism and Culture Secretariat. The meeting addressed the integration of modern amenities and digital outreach to showcase the province’s rich heritage and attract global visitors.

Chinzeb highlighted the necessity for departmental staff to engage directly with on-site work, ensuring that the progress on tourism and cultural projects aligns with the field realities. He stressed the importance of overcoming any developmental delays, urging prompt communication of financial or administrative hurdles for resolution at the highest levels.

Reflecting the vision of PTI leader Imran Khan and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the government’s strategy includes leveraging foreign loans for high-standard projects, with a focus on accountability and the generation of sustainable revenue. The advisor underscored the significance of preparing all tourist sites for the upcoming season, including essential amenities like high-quality washrooms and the use of prominent digital influencers for marketing historical sites, emphasizing Gandhara civilization and significant religious locations.

The meeting concluded with directives to enhance tourist facilities urgently and employ innovative marketing to promote the province’s archaeological and cultural treasures. Secretary Tourism and Culture Muhammad Bakhtiar, along with a cadre of officials, provided the foundational briefing, aligning departmental efforts with the broader objective of tourism and cultural development.
