Peshawar, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has introduced a new e-transfer policy, under which transfer postings will occur once annually at the academic year’s end, prioritizing teacher placements in nearby areas and ensuring facilities for women teachers, announced Education Minister Faisal Khan Turkai.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister Turkai outlined the comprehensive ban on all transfers and appointments outside the e-transfer policy framework during a meeting on the subject. The policy aims to eradicate improper postings by facilitating merit-based transfers through an automated system. The e-transfer app, designed with particular consideration for female educators, incorporates several criteria for transfers, including the duration at a school, distance from home, and annual performance metrics.
The briefing, attended by Secretary of Education Masood Ahmed, Special Secretary, Director of Education Samina Altaf, Director of IT Salahuddin, and other senior officials, detailed the process where teachers will apply online for transfers to vacant positions. District education officers will verify applications within a digitalized system to ensure merit-based reassignments.
Minister Turkai also directed the activation of the transfer policy app and the establishment of a technical committee to promptly advertise vacant positions on the app. Emphasizing the large number of teachers and the challenges faced by women in remote areas, he assured that the new system would facilitate transparent, merit-based transfers without the need for recommendations or office visits, significantly streamlining the process for all involved.
