Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Discusses Development Initiatives with British High Commissioner


Peshawar, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, engaged in substantive discussions with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott on Tuesday, focusing on expanding investment and development in the province.



According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the meeting held at the Chief Minister House in Peshawar addressed collaboration on public welfare projects and the potential for increased involvement of British institutions in the region. Present at the meeting were the Adviser to the Chief Minister on Information, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, and other key officials.



Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized the provincial government’s dedication to enhancing public welfare and expressed a keen interest in fostering deeper ties with British investment entities, particularly in sectors like minerals, energy, and tourism. He highlighted ongoing efforts to streamline bureaucratic processes to create a more favorable investment climate and the government’s commitment to improving security and legal frameworks to encourage foreign investment.



The discussions also touched on the development of the agricultural sector, with plans to build small dams and provide interest-free loans to the youth, aiming to boost employment and economic growth. Additionally, Gandapur pointed out the need for special measures to rebuild infrastructure in areas affected by terrorism, underlining the province’s critical role in the frontline of the war against terrorism.



The meeting concluded with an agreement to further expand the partnership between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and British institutions in implementing public welfare projects.
