Khyber Pakhtunkhwa boosts urban development and sustainability efforts

Peshawar, Provincial Minister for Local Government, Arshad Ayub Khan, recently toured the Hayatabad office of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (KPCIP), emphasizing the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in urban development projects. The visit included a detailed briefing from Governor Dawood Khan and the Project Director of KPCIP, with the presence of MPA Akbar Ayub Khan, underscoring a collaborative approach to improving the province’s urban infrastructure.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister Arshad Ayub Khan highlighted several key initiatives during his visit. These include enhancing water supply systems, improving drainage and solid waste management across various cities, and solarizing offices to reduce electricity costs and benefit the national exchequer. Furthermore, the Minister announced plans for the construction of a Women Development Center and a Mega Park in Haripur, aiming to empower local women to start their own businesses.

The visit reaffirmed the provincial government’s dedication to completing urban improvement projects in a timely and transparent manner, ensuring that public funds are used effectively for the welfare of the residents. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a shield to Minister Arshad Ayub Khan, marking the significance of the ongoing projects and partnerships.
