Peshawar, In a landmark move to ensure the rights and welfare of transgender individuals, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, under the directives of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, has announced the allocation of land for graveyards specifically for transgender people and the establishment of special wards in government hospitals across the province. Adviser to the Chief Minister Mishal Azam Yousafzai highlighted these significant measures aimed at improving the living conditions and healthcare access for the transgender community.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Yousafzai detailed the provincial government’s plans to allocate 5 kanals of land in districts with transgender populations for their exclusive graveyards. Additionally, a special ward will be set up in the government hospital of every division within the province, ensuring that transgender women receive the best possible care. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to address the needs and rights of every member of society, with a particular focus on the welfare of transgender individuals.
