Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor Champions Sports Development in Abbottabad

Peshawar, Syed Fakhar Jahan, the Adviser on Sports and Youth Affairs for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, visited Abbottabad to partake in the final matches of an inter-departmental cricket tournament, a regional event supported by the provincial Sports Department. The tournament highlighted the administration’s commitment to fostering a sporting culture and improving infrastructure across the province.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, alongside Jahan, other notable attendees included Abdul Nasir, Director General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and various regional and district sports officers. The tournament saw intense competition with the Police Department and the Anti-Corruption Department reaching the finals from a field of 32 teams.

During the event, Jahan expressed plans to organize more sports competitions in the Hazara region and promote recreational activities. He highlighted upcoming initiatives such as shooting competitions and other sports events, aimed at utilizing the enhanced sports infrastructure now being developed across the province. Jahan also shared aspirations to host international cricket matches in the near future, underlining the government’s dedication to sports as a means for community engagement and youth development.
