Islamabad: A recent arrest has unveiled the operational link between the Afghan Taliban and the militant group Fitna al Khawarij, following a confession from a detained Kharji terrorist.
According to Radio Pakistan, the individual, identified as Amir Sohail, also known as Maulvi Haider, disclosed during interrogations that he was drawn to Fitna al Khawarij due to misleading propaganda against Pakistan. He further revealed that he received terrorist training at a facility operated by Fitna al Khawarij in Afghanistan’s Paktika province.
Sohail claimed that the training centers in Afghanistan are supported by the Afghan Taliban and receive financial backing from foreign entities, including the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) of India. He admitted his participation in multiple attacks targeting security forces in the Pakistani regions of Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Mianwali.
The detainee emphasized that Fitna al Khawarij’s activities are not aligned with Islamic principles or Jihad, asserting that their operations in Pakistan are motivated purely by financial gain.
