Kharan, In a proactive response to the threat of the Congo virus, a specialized team from the Kharan district livestock office has begun a comprehensive spraying campaign at the local livestock market. The initiative aims to safeguard animals from the virus and educate the public on the risks associated with the disease.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the campaign was organized under the direction of Provincial Secretary Livestock Mohammad Tayyab Lahri and DG Livestock Mohammad Farooq Tareen. District Livestock Officer Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Noshirwani leads the effort with a team including Veterinary Officer Dr. Shahzad Ahmed, Dr. Sanaullah Baloch, Veterinary Assistant Afiullah Mengal, Hizbullah Siyapad, and Nawaz Abid.
Dr. Noshirwani emphasized the continuous nature of the prevention efforts, noting that the daily spraying operations are crucial for controlling the spread of the Congo virus among the livestock population. He stated that the goal is not only to protect the animals but also to increase community awareness about the disease’s dangers.
The campaign includes not only spraying but also the distribution of necessary medications to farmers, enabling them to treat their animals effectively and prevent the disease from spreading. This measure is part of a broader strategy to enhance biosecurity in the agricultural sector of Kharan.
The initiative reflects a significant commitment by regional authorities to tackle health threats in the agricultural sector proactively, ensuring the well-being of both the animal population and the community at large.
