Kharan Commissioner Pledges to Address Medical Shortages and Infrastructure Issues at Divisional Headquarters Hospital

Kharan: During his visit to the Divisional Headquarters Civil Hospital Kharan, Commissioner Rukhshan Division Shah Irfan Ahmed Gharshin pledged to address pressing issues including shortages of medical staff and supplies, and infrastructural deficiencies. The commissioner’s tour included various critical departments, and he emphasized the urgency of resolving these challenges to ensure better healthcare services.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Commissioner Gharshin surveyed several departments within the hospital such as the laboratory, X-ray facilities, medicine store, dialysis unit, and dental services. Throughout the visit, MS Dr. Mehboob Baloch briefed him about the existing challenges, notably the insufficient number of medical officers, surgeons, and other essential staff, as well as ongoing shortages of medicines and electrical problems.

The commissioner responded to these concerns by stating that the health department would be consulted to urgently address the lack of doctors, staff, and medical supplies. Additionally, he discussed the electrical issues and requested funding from the provincial finance minister for a necessary transformer to support hospital operations. Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Noshirwani assured that the funds would be allocated soon.

Commissioner Gharshin stressed the importance of the hospital as a divisional headquarters facility, committing to prioritizing the provision of comprehensive medical facilities and medications to patients, with special measures to be implemented to improve service delivery.
