Khalistan Supporters Disrupt India Day Parade in Toronto

Toronto: A group of pro-Khalistan demonstrators disrupted the India Day Parade in Toronto, tearing the Indian flag and instigating clashes with parade participants while chanting slogans. The incident has heightened concerns about increasing tensions between pro-India and Khalistan groups in Canada.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the disruption occurred at Nathan Phillips Square during the parade, which was marked by heightened security due to anticipated confrontations. The protesters, who had previously engaged in similar actions in Surrey, BC, used knives to rip apart the Indian flag, labeling the event as the “next face-off” following previous tensions on India’s Independence Day.

The incident captured on social media shows the intensity of the clashes, with videos depicting Khalistani supporters urging pro-India attendees to “go back to India.” This has raised alarms about the escalating friction between the two communities in Canada, reflecting broader global tensions related to the Khalistan movement.
