Thiruvananthapuram, A senior Congress leader from Kerala, Ramesh Chennithala, has accused the Indian government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi of resorting to religious fundamentalism to garner support, alleging a lack of significant achievements. Speaking at a campaign event, Chennithala criticized the Modi administration for its unfulfilled promises and the country’s current challenges, including job scarcity, the absence of new smart cities, rising fuel prices, and increased farmer suicides.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the accusations were made during the Veruppinethire Sneha Sandesha Yatra, a campaign organized by Congress MP T.N. Prathapan in the Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency at Guruvayur, Kerala. Chennithala highlighted the Modi government’s failure to fulfill its promise of creating jobs for 2 crore youth annually and the non-development of 100 smart cities as initially claimed. He also pointed to the skyrocketing prices of diesel, petrol, and LPG, along with a rise in farmers’ suicides and the suppression of protestors as indicators of the government’s shortcomings.
Furthermore, Chennithala criticized Prime Minister Modi’s participation in the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Temple, arguing that it was not appropriate for a ruler and went against traditional Hindu beliefs. This act, As per Chennithala, has led to public realization and discontent regarding the government’s priorities.
