Karachi, Karachi Development Authority (KDA) held its Departmental Examination Finance and Accounts ceremony in Karachi, marking the first instance in 24 years that these exams have been conducted. The ceremony featured the Director General of KDA, Syed Shujaat Hussain, as the chief guest, who highlighted the historical context and significance of the exams.
According to Karachi Development Authority, the exams, which test various levels of accounting proficiency, were previously held in the 1970s and 80s. However, they were discontinued after KDA’s integration into the Urban District Government in 2000. The recent revival of these examinations follows the restoration of KDA in 2016, although they were delayed due to various reasons. The exams are aimed at grades 16 and 17 and include up to five papers at the highest level.
The event also served as an opportunity for KDA’s current leadership to encourage new generations to engage and advance within the agency. Director of Finance, Muhammad Kashif Siddiqui, expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the resumption and successful execution of these examinations, which are crucial for professional development within KDA.
