KDA Director General Vows to Combat Illegal Activities in Karachi Development Schemes

Karachi: Syed Shujaat Hussain, Director General of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), has announced a strict crackdown on illegal activities within the city’s development schemes, emphasizing the authority’s commitment to legal enforcement and urban management.

According to Karachi Development Authority announcement issued on 12 August 2024, during a high-level meeting at the KDA Civic Center, Director General Hussain highlighted the urgent need to address illegal constructions and commercial activities in residential areas. He issued directives to senior officials, including Director P and UD Farid Shaikh and Director Land Asif Chandio, to identify and report on unauthorized buildings. Additionally, Hussain ordered the issuance of notices to defaulting allottees who owe approximately one and a half billion rupees in payments to the KDA.

The meeting, attended by key figures such as Secretary KDA Behzad Amir Memon and Director of Recovery Jameel Ahmed, also focused on enhancing the financial health of the authority through rigorous recovery efforts directed at delinquent allottees. The leadership emphasized using all available means to expedite the collection of dues to foster the development and increase the revenue of Karachi.
