KCR launches new national party with an eye on 2024 elections

Hyderabad, October 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):K Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Telangana and Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) supremo, has launched a national political party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) with an eye on upcoming elections in the country in 2024.

The new party was launched by K Chandrashekar Rao, popularly known as KCR, at the party headquarters in Hyderabad. He also declared that the TRS should now be called BRS. Former chief minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy, and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi chief and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) ally Thol Thirumavalavan also graced the party launching ceremony.

Before launch of the new party, KCR met with various political leaders including his counterparts in other Indian states like Naveen Patnaik (Odisha), Pinarayi Vijayan (Kerala), Mamta Banerjee (Bengal), Arvind Kejriwal (Delhi), Nitish Kumar (Bihar) and MK Stalin (Tamil Nadu).
