Kazakhstan and Pakistan Strengthen Economic and Cultural Ties

Islamabad, In a significant move to enhance regional connectivity and bilateral trade, H.E. Yerzhan Kistafin, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, met with Dr. Gohar Ejaz, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, Industries, Investments, and Interior. The meeting focused on deepening the trade and logistics relationship between the two countries.

According to Press Information Department, Dr. Gohar Ejaz emphasized the critical link between trade and transport, stating, There is no trade without transport. He highlighted the importance of efficient logistics in strengthening trade relations and facilitating the movement of goods between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.

Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin conveyed Kazakhstan’s commitment to bolstering economic ties and announced that Kazakhstan’s Trade Minister plans to visit Pakistan in February. This visit is aimed at exploring collaborative opportunities and further enhancing bilateral trade.

In a move to promote cultural exchange and economic collaboration, Ambassador Kistafin revealed plans for a fashion show in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He extended an invitation to the Pakistani fashion industry to participate in the event, thereby fostering greater ties between the fashion communities of both countries.

Additionally, Ambassador Kistafin proposed organizing a single-country exhibition in March to showcase Pakistan’s diverse range of products. This exhibition will serve as an opportunity to present Pakistan’s cultural and economic contributions to a Kazakhstani audience.

The discussions also touched upon the deliberation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries in the areas of digital marketing and e-commerce. Both sides recognized the transformative impact of digital technologies on modern trade and expressed eagerness to collaborate in this evolving sector.

Dr. Gohar Ejaz reiterated the vital role of trade and logistics in the bilateral relationship, emphasizing the commitment to creating a conducive environment for trade through strategic collaborations. In another positive development, Ambassador Kistafin announced the resumption of direct flights from Kazakhstan to Pakistan after Ramadan and the introduction of e-visas for Pakistani business persons, aimed at simplifying the visa process and enhancing business interactions.

This meeting marks a significant step in strengthening the economic and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, with a focus on trade, logistics, cultural exchange, and digital collaboration.
