Islamabad: Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin and Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry engaged in discussions to bolster bilateral trade through Pakistani ports, aiming to enhance regional connectivity and maritime cooperation at a farewell meeting.

According to Press Information Department: The Minister praised Mr. Kistafin for his role in strengthening relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, expressing optimism for continued collaboration in the maritime sector. Junaid Chaudhry emphasized Pakistan’s interest in deepening engagement with Kazakhstan in areas such as ports, shipping, and trade facilitation, noting that robust maritime links could present new business opportunities for both nations.

Chaudhry outlined Pakistan’s readiness to offer port infrastructure and support for Kazakh cargo through Karachi, Port Qasim, and Gwadar, including the possibility of joint ventures in free zones. He stated that Pakistani seaports could serve as transit hubs for Kazakhstan and the broader Central Asian region, providing access to markets in the Persian Gulf, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Ambassador Kistafin underscored the potential for expanding bilateral trade, suggesting that closer collaboration in the maritime and port sectors could unlock new commercial avenues. The discussions also covered strengthening institutional connections and exploring practical measures to facilitate Kazakh trade through Pakistani ports.
