Srinagar, August 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control, in Pakistan and all over the world will observe Youm-e-Istehsal, tomorrow, August 5, to register their protest against Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government’s illegal action taken on that day in 2019.
The Modi regime in gross violation of the United Nations resolutions and international law scrapped Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution that granted special autonomous status to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and imposed military siege in the territory on 5 August 2019. Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has called for complete shutdown tomorrow, August 5, to mark it as a black day.
Illegally detained APHC Chairman, Masarrat Alam Butt in a message from an Indian jail, released in Srinagar, said that August 5, 2019 is one of the blackest days in IIOJK. He said the purpose of observing the day as Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir is to sensitize the international community about New Delhi’s brutal repression being carried out by its more than one million occupation troops in the territory.
He said the people of IIOJK are standing firm against Indian occupation of their homeland and they have completely rejected all the unconstitutional and illegal imperialist measures taken by Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government on August 05, 2019. The APHC Chairman said the 3 years constant siege and continued Indian state terrorism have wreaked havoc in the entire occupied territory, which has been turned into a torture chamber by the communal Modi regime.
APHC Vice Chairman Shabbir Ahmed Shah in a message from New Delhi’s Tihar Jail appealed to the Kashmiri people to observe Black Day on 5th August to convey a strong message to the world that Kashmiris do not accept India’s illegal occupation over Jammu and Kashmir.
Incarcerated APHC Vice Chairman, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, in a message from Srinagar Central Jail said that 05 August is one of the most tragic, painful and darkest days of modern Kashmir history and the Kashmiris will always observe it as exploitation day, day of mourning and a black day.
APHC General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Ahmad Irfani in a statement in Srinagar said that the motive behind abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A was to change the demography of the territory and turn it into a Hindu state. He said that abolition of special status was followed by coercive administrative steps which include domiciles to thousands of Indian Hindus, amendment in land laws and setting up of soldiers’ colonies in the territory.
APHC leader, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, in a party meeting termed the abrogation of special status of IIOJK by the Modi regime on 05 August 2019, as a ‘breach of promise’ and ‘treachery’ by India as well as apathy of the United Nations.
APHC leaders and organizations including Syed Bashir Andrabi, Yasmeen Raja, Zamruda Habib, Javaid Ahmed Mir, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Imtiyaz Reshi, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Firdous Ahmad Shah, Wasim Ahmad and Ghulam Nabi War in their statements said the Kashmiris do not accept Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government’s illegal and unconstitutional actions of 05 August, 2019 and will continue their struggle till resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
APHC leaders Khadim Hussain and Syed Sibte Shabbir Qummi in a joint statement in Srinagar said Narendra Modi’s Hindutva government has snatched all the rights of Kashmiris after revoking the special status of the territory and is using every imperialist tactic to suppress their legitimate struggle.
APHC AJK leaders Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Altaf Hussain Wani, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Imtiaz Ahmad Wani, Zahid Ashraf, Syed Ejaz Rehmani and Syed Manzoor Ahmad Shah in their statements said Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory and abrogation of its special status is not only a violation of the United Nations resolutions on Kashmir but also a blatant violation of international law. Three years of constant siege had wreaked havoc in occupied Kashmir and the fascist Modi government had turned the entire Kashmir valley into a big open-air prison, they deplored.
