London, July 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):Kashmiris and Pakistanis staged protests in London, Birmingham, Glasgow and various cities of the UK and Europe in connection with Kashmir Resistance Day on the call of the Tehreek-e-Kashmir (TeK). Main protests were held outside Indian High Commission London and Indian consulate Birmingham. The demonstrators raised slogans against illegal Indian occupation of Kashmir including” Stop state terrorism in Kashmir, end Indian colonisation of Kashmir, We want freedom, Indian army out out and release all political prisoners.”
The representatives of All Parties Kashmir Coordination Committee, Overseas Pakistan Kashmir Welfare Council(OPKWC), Pakistan Patriotic Front, Global Pakistan Kashmir Supreme Council(GPKSC), World Kashmir Freedom Movement, Kashmir Campaign Global , Kashmir Information and Research Centre, Kashmir Patriotic Front , Jammu and Kashmir Right of Self Determination Movement (JKSDM) Daughters of Kashmir , Pakistan People Party(PPP), Sunni Council UK, Pakistan Muslim League(PMLN), Jamaat-e-Islami, Muslim Conference and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) participated in protests and paid tribute to Burhan Wani Shaheed who was martyred by Indian Army on 8th July 2016.
All Pakistani and Kashmiri human rights groups said that they are standing in solidarity to commemorate the 5th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Burhan Wani who gave the supreme sacrifice of his life for the liberation of his motherland from the Indian manacles. Lord Nazir Ahmed said a fact finding mission should be sent to IoK by UN agencies and international observers to view the recent atrocities of Indian forces against the people of occupied Kashmir.
Fahim Kayani, President Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, said, “Today we’re here to take this cause one step further on an international level so they world can see the true face of India and occupation. Occupation is a abuse to humanity which degrades humanity to commit war crimes to innocents who aren’t in a war so have no weapons to defend but suffer in silence defenceless waiting for the world to become their voice but it has been 7 decades still not much noise.” Kayani condemned the today’s killing of four Kashmiri youth by the Indian army and urged the UN to hold India for its War Crimes.
Muhammad Ghalib, President Tehreek-e-Kashmir Europe, said the World has turned a blind eye to atrocities committed by the Indian army which encourages India to commit human rights abuses in Kashmir. Yahiya Akhtar, Sardar Aftab and Yousuf Farooq said that “The people of Kashmir must have their right to self-determination fulfilled. It is our duty to continue protesting and keeping campaign going to stand up against Indian state oppression”
Mulana Fazal Ahmed Qadari, Patron in Chief All Parties International Kashmir Coordination Committee, Ch Muhammad Azeem President APIKCC, Khawajah Muhammad Suleman, Ch Muhammad Tariq, Asia Hussain, Naila Ahmed, Raja Shakeel Khan, Syed Ashiq Hussain Kazami, Raja Nazir Johar, Zafar Ahmed Qureshi, Azam Farooq, Naib Mughal, Syed Tufail Hussain Shah, Ghazanfar Ali, Qari Riaz, Raja Abdul Qayoum and other prominent Leaders of various Kashmiri groups said that we can’t forget the sacrifice given by Burhan Wani and other Kashmiri youth to give a new life to our Kashmir cause.
The information secretary of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, Rehana Ali said that British Kashmiris and Pakistanis joined the protest with friends and family to highlight the suffering in IIOJK and to honour their brothers and sisters struggling for freedom. Stuart Richardson, Secretary General Stop the War Coalition Birmingham branch, and Ian Scott, President Trade Union Council, joined the protest and showed their solidarity with the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
