Kashmiris Face Intensified Indian State Terrorism Post August 2019

SRINAGAR, Political experts and analysts have reported a significant increase in India’s military and state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), especially after August 5, 2019. This observation was shared in interviews and statements made in Srinagar.

According to Kashmir Media Service, these experts noted that the Kashmiri people are experiencing relentless cordons, searches, and repressive tactics. They highlighted that since the abrogation of the territory’s special status in August 2019 by the Modi-led Indian government, the oppression has intensified manifold.

The experts criticized the daily killings, brutalities, arbitrary arrests, and attacks on homes in IIOJK, describing the situation as turning Kashmir into a “living hell” for its residents. They compared the Indian government’s tactics to the Israeli model of repression, noting that international reports have documented widespread human rights violations by Indian troops in the region.

Emphasizing the resilience of the Kashmiri people, they stated that despite the severe repression, the resolve for freedom remains unshaken. They cautioned that India’s military approach in IIOJK is a threat to regional and global peace and security. The experts urged the international community to heed the plight of Kashmiris and respond to the ongoing state terrorism in IIOJK.
