Kashmiris across the world observed Black Day to convey rejection of India’s illegal occupation 

Islamabad, October 27, 2021 (PPI-OT):Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the World are observing Black Day today [Wednesday, 27th Oct] to convey to the international community that they reject India’s illegal occupation of their homeland and will continue their struggle to achieve their inalienable right to self-determination.

On 27 October 1947, the Indian troops had invaded Jammu and Kashmir and occupied it in violation of the Partition Plan of the subcontinent and against the Kashmiris’ aspirations. The day is being marked by a complete shutdown in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Protest rallies are being held in world capitals to draw attention of the international community towards Indian state terrorism in occupied territory. Call for the shutdown and March was given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Hurriyat Forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other Hurriyat organisations.

The observance of the Black Day is also aimed at drawing attention of the world towards the sufferings of the people of occupied Kashmir due to the continued military siege imposed by Narendra Modi-led fascist regime in the territory since 05 August 2019.

President Dr Arif Alvi has strongly urged the Modi government to stop its persecution campaign in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and give the right of self-determination to the Kashmiri people. Addressing the rally at D-Chowk in Islamabad today, he said India is digging its own grave by oppressing Muslims and other minorities.

The President said the history of India is blotched with dark eras of tyranny and its future would be even darker under the Hindutva supremacy. He paid homage to the perseverance and struggle of Kashmiri people against Indian illegal domination and state-terrorism in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The rally was attended by National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, federal ministers, political figures, and people from various walks of life. Dr Arif Alvi assured the Kashmiris that the Pakistani nation would stand with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters.

He pointed out that the unilateral steps taken by India to change the demographic structure of Jammu and Kashmir are illegal and a clear violation of various UN resolutions and international law. The President urged the international community and India to fulfil its promise of giving Kashmiris the right to self-determination in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Addressing a ceremony in connection with Black Day in Islamabad today, President Dr. Arif Alvi said India cannot suppress the freedom struggle of Kashmiri people at any cost. He said Kashmiris has been facing atrocities since Dogra Raj.

The President said despite all suppression today Kashmiris are celebrating Pakistan’s victory in T20 cricket world cup against India. He said India cannot build a relation of love with Kashmiris in seven decades. Dr. Arif Alvi said India trying to hide the facts and it never allows international observers to visit Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He said Modi government in India has taken away all fundamental rights of minorities. Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said Pakistan will continue to support its Kashmiri brethren in their just right of self-determination. He urged the international community to play its role to resolve the longstanding issue.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain has called upon the world community to support Kashmiri people’s just struggle for their right to self-determination. He stated this while inaugurating a photo exhibition in connection with the Black Day in Islamabad today.

He said it is the responsibility of every human to support the oppressed innocent people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The Minister said this exhibition commemorates seven-decade old struggle of Kashmiri people that depicts stories of courage and sacrifices.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib strongly condemned the inhuman atrocities of Indian occupational forces in IIOJK. He said Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiri people in their just struggle for freedom at every forum.

AJK Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi visited Terminate Crossing Point near Line of Control in Rawlakot today and expressed solidarity with Kashmiris living on the other side of LoC. In Muzaffarabad, protest demonstration was held under the Kashmir Liberation Cell at District Office Complex.

AJK Minister for local government and rural Development Khwaja Farooq Ahmad was the chief guest. AJK Minister Fahim Rabbani, Members of the legislative Assembly, Hurriyat leaders and people belonging to all walks of life participated. Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar led a Kashmir walk in Lahore in connection with the Kashmir Black Day.

The participants of rally were carrying placards and raised slogans in favour of Kashmiri people’ right of self-determination. Addressing the participants, the Punjab Governor said that India will have to give the right to self-determination to Kashmiri people as their sacrifices will bring fruit one day.

In his address, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that that day is not far away when the Kashmir issue will be solved as Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken a brave stand on this issue. Kashmir Black Day was also observed across Sindh today like other parts of the country. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a rally was held led by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on the occasion of Kashmir Black Day in Peshawar today.

Participants of the rally were carrying placards inscribed with slogans against atrocities being committed by the occupational forces and Modi government over innocent Kashmir in the held territory. They also chanted slogans in favour of the right of self-determination for Kashmiri brethren and the barbarism of Indian occupational forces in occupied territory.
