Islamabad: The Friends of Kashmir International (FoKI) organized a webinar to commemorate the 8th martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Muzaffar Wani, highlighting his role and the ongoing struggles in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the webinar, attended by youths from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and IIOJK, celebrated Wani as a pivotal figure in the Kashmiri freedom movement. Speakers at the event, including FoKI Vice Chairman Abdul Hameed Lone, emphasized Wani’s influential role and urged the international community to recognize and resolve the Kashmir dispute.
Discussions also criticized the policies of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards Muslims in Kashmir, accusing him of attempting to alter the region’s demographic and cultural identity. The session called on Kashmiri youth to actively participate in the ideological battle for their homeland’s autonomy and highlighted the enduring legacy of Wani as a beacon for resistance against oppression.
