Islamabad: In a recent webinar organized by Friends of Kashmir International to commemorate “Accession to Pakistan Day,” speakers reiterated the unwavering resolve of Kashmiris to pursue freedom despite ongoing Indian hostilities.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the event featured prominent figures including Chairperson Ghazala Habib and Vice Chairman Abdul Hameed Lone, alongside social worker Sadia Sattar and Atiqul Rasool from the Islamabad Bar Council. The participants voiced that despite severe challenges under Indian rule, the spirit of freedom and affiliation with Pakistan remains strong among Kashmiris.
The speakers emphasized the historical significance of the resolution passed 77 years ago, which declared Kashmiris’ intent to align politically with Pakistan. This resolution, they noted, was ratified shortly before the establishment of Pakistan, marking a critical juncture thwarted by subsequent Indian military interventions in the region.
Furthermore, they highlighted Pakistan’s role in amplifying Kashmiri voices on international platforms, advocating for their right to self-determination amidst considerable adversity.
