Kashmiri scholar, freedom leader Karimi passes away

Islamabad, July 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):Renowned Kashmiri scholar and pro-freedom leader Abdul Hameed Karimi passed away in Rawalpindi, this morning. Late Abdul Hameed Karimi was a cancer patient, which was diagnosed only four months ago. He died in a hospital in Rawalpindi. Abdul Hameed Karimi immensely suffered at the hands of Indian forces for his commitment to the freedom cause. Through his writings, he opposed Indian designs and illegal occupation of his motherland.

A born freedom fighter, Karimi left occupied Jammu Kashmir in 90’s when Indian forces made his life a hell and were hell-bent upon eliminating him. The Late Karimi was father-in-law of Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement, Khawaja Firdous. Party vice Chairman Advocate Pervez Ahmad Shah and other Hurriyat leaders including Molvi Bashir Irfani, Abdul Ahad Parra, APHC AJK and others in their statements expressed deep shock and sorrow over the demise of Abdul Hameed Karimi.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman in a condolence message issued in Srinagar expressed solidarity with the grief stricken family of Abdul Hamid Karimi. The spokesman expressed heartfelt condolences with the son-in-law of the deceased Hurriyat leader, Khawaja Firdous prayed Allah to grant the soul high place in heaven. APHC-AJK at a condolence meeting in Islamabad paid homage to Abdul Hameed Karimi. The leaders, Staff and office bearers expressed their deep sympathy with the bereaved family.
