Karachi: Leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, at an event in Karachi, articulated a resolute stance on the Kashmiri struggle for freedom, despite India’s extensive efforts to suppress the movement.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ghulam Mohammad Safi, speaking at a gathering organized by Amir Ghafar Lone, a member of the Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, criticized India for its unsuccessful attempts to dominate the Kashmiri people using substantial resources. He accused India of falsely linking the Kashmiri freedom movement to terrorism while engaging in state terrorism, an allegation underscored by recent international incidents including Canada’s expulsion of Indian diplomatic staff.
Safi emphasized the importance of honoring the sacrifices of those who died in the struggle for freedom, stating, “We will not allow anyone to betray the great sacrifices of martyrs and will continue our struggle till we get freedom from Indian rule.” He also expressed gratitude to the women attending the event for their support and commitment to the cause of Jammu and Kashmir.
Former president and prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, also addressed the gathering, reaffirming his lifelong commitment to the Kashmir freedom movement and urging all attendees to do everything possible to protect the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir from Indian oppression.
APHC-AJK General Secretary Advocate Parvez Ahmed thanked the Kashmiri community in Karachi for their unwavering support, asserting that such solidarity is crucial for achieving freedom. Aamir Ghaffar Lone, host of the event, declared that the liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir remains a paramount objective.
The event also saw participation from notable figures including former adviser to the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Abdul Waheed Mir, Karachi Arts Council Director Bashir Saduzai, and other dignitaries who expressed their support for the Kashmiri cause.
