Muzaffarabad: Key Kashmiri leaders and political figures gathered at a symposium in Muzaffarabad to deliberate on peaceful solutions to the ongoing conflict in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The event, titled “Kashmir Struggles Under Siege,” was organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir chapter and focused on addressing human rights violations and the broader Kashmir dispute in line with United Nations resolutions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the symposium saw the participation of notable figures including the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, Convener All Parties Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, along with various government ministers and representatives from the Hurriyat Conference. The gathering aimed to highlight the plight of Kashmiris under Indian occupation and to unify efforts towards a peaceful resolution.
The discussions emphasized the necessity of a non-violent struggle for Kashmiri self-determination and the importance of maintaining solidarity among the Kashmiri populace. The speakers also expressed gratitude towards Pakistan for its ongoing support of the Kashmir cause and called for greater international involvement to halt the Indian government’s repressive measures in the region.
Moreover, the participants unanimously agreed on the need for sustained diplomatic engagement to effectively address and resolve the Kashmir issue. They urged the international community to take an active role in alleviating the hardships faced by the Kashmiri people and to support their right to self-determination as stipulated by relevant UN resolutions.
The symposium concluded with a collective endorsement of a peaceful and diplomatic approach to resolving the Kashmir conflict, reflecting the desires of the Kashmiri people and adhering to international legal frameworks.
