Rawalpindi, June 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):A Kashmiri freedom activist, Farid Ahmad Mir died at a hospital in Rawalpindi after a two-week illness. According to Kashmir Media Service, Farid Ahmad Mir alias Nasirul Islam joined the anti-India freedom struggle in 1990. He was arrested by Indian forces in the late 1990s and spent six years in various Indian Army-run penitentiaries in Jammu. Upon his release, he crossed into Azad Kashmir in 1997. A few weeks ago, Farid Ahmad Mir complained of heartburn. He died after a short stay at a hospital in Rawalpindi. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
