Kashmiri Activist Nazir Ahmad Passes Away in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, Nazir Ahmed, a notable activist of the Kashmir freedom movement originally from Ganderbal district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has died due to cardiac arrest in Dhok Piracha, Rawalpindi. His passing marks a significant loss for the Kashmiri expatriate community and the broader movement advocating for Kashmir’s autonomy and rights.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ahmad, who was also the son-in-law of the distinguished Kashmiri poet Mushtaq Kashmiri, had been compelled to migrate to Pakistan during the 1990s. Since then, he had made Rawalpindi his home. Ahmad’s death leaves behind a widow and a son, mourning the loss of a family member and a fervent advocate for Kashmir’s freedom.

His funeral prayers are scheduled to be held after the Isha prayer in Khana, Islamabad, allowing friends, family, and fellow activists an opportunity to pay their respects. Ahmad’s commitment to the Kashmir freedom movement and his contributions to the community in exile will be remembered by those who shared his aspirations for peace and justice in the region.
