Kashmir Trade Alliance Seeks Financial Stimulus in Upcoming Budget

Srinagar: The Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) has advocated for a significant financial stimulus package for Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in the forthcoming budget, aiming to alleviate the economic downturn affecting the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, with the annual budget presentation approaching next week in Parliament, KTA President Aijaz Shahdhar highlighted the dire economic situation, especially in the non-tourism sectors that have struggled to recover post-COVID.

Shahdhar has called for measures akin to the amnesty provided to domestic power consumers, requesting similar relief for commercial power users to address pending dues. The trade body is pushing for additional initiatives to rejuvenate the local economy, which continues to face significant challenges despite a slight recovery in the tourism sector.
