Bradford, July 10, 2023 (PPI-OT): Jammu and Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International has announced to observe Kashmir Martyrs Week from July 13 to July 20 in memory of the Kashmiri martyrs who laid their lives for the freedom of their motherland, occupied Jammu and Kashmir, from Indian subjugation. A Martyrs’ Conference will be held in Oldham to pay homage to the martyrs of July 13, 1931 under the auspices of the Jammu and Kashmir Movement for Self-determination International, while programmes will also be held in all major cities of Great Britain and Europe.
All-Party Parliamentary Group on Kashmir Chairperson Debbie Abraham will be the chief guest at the Martyrs Conference, while Group’s Senior Vice-Chairman and Shadow Minister Barrister Imran Hussain, Lord Mayor of Manchester Yasmin Dar, Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent Majid Khan, Mayor of Oldham Dr. Zahid Chauhan, Mayor of Bolton Muhammad Ayub Khan, Mayor of Blackburn Pervez Akhtar and Convener Labor Friend of Kashmir UK Lord Wajid Khan will also attend the conference.
Besides, Naila Sharif, Amjad Hussain Mughal, Rubina Khan, Nina Rania Khan, Asia Khan, Harry Buta, Alhaj Sufi Muhammad Akbar, Alhaj Asif Hussain, Raja Maqsood Hussain Kakarvi, Raja Rashid Hussain, Raja Javed Tariq, Professor Taimur Shafiq and others will participate in the programmes.
JKSDMI Chairman Raja Najabat Hussain while talking to the media, said that his organization and other colleagues are demanding of the British government and parliamentarians to raise their voice for the release of Kashmiri detainees including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi and Shabbir Ahmad Shah. Raja Najabat Hussain, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khan and Naila Sharif urged the Government of Pakistan, especially the officials of the Foreign Office, to speed up diplomatic activities to bring the case of Kashmiri prisoners to the International Court of Justice.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum France organized a programme on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of martyred Kashmiri youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani. It was presided over by the Forum’s president Mirza Asif Jaral. The speakers on the occasion highlighted the sacrifice of Shaheed Wani and said that the blood of the youth would not go waste. Among those who spoke on the occasion included Raja Ashfaq, Sardar Zulfikar Aziz, Imran Rasheed, Sardar Muhammad Akhlaq, Tahir Abbas Goraya, Malik Abid, Mirza Tahir, Yusuf Khan, Asghar Khan, Sher Faisal and Chaudhry Ali Por. Mirza Asif Jaral thanked the Kashmiri and Pakistani community for attending the event. Later prayers were offered for the departed souls of Burhan Wani and other martyrs.
