Muzaffarabad: Speakers at a seminar in Muzaffarabad have asserted that observing India’s Republic Day as ‘Black Day’ will once again highlight the contentious actions of India.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the seminar titled “Jammu and Kashmir Independence Movement and Our Responsibilities” was organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter and Ittehad-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir.
During the seminar, speakers emphasized that the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir reject what they describe as the oppressive rule of India. They argued that India is attempting to alter the demographic makeup of the region by turning the Kashmiri majority into a minority, a move they vowed to resist vigorously.
The speakers further reminded attendees that India initially brought the Kashmir dispute to the United Nations but is now allegedly evading the commitments made to the Kashmiri people.
They reiterated that Kashmiris have been engaged in a protracted struggle for their freedom and right to self-determination and are determined to continue this struggle until their objectives are fully realized.
The seminar featured prominent figures such as All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter General Secretary Advocate Pervez, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Raja Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, Chairman of Ittehad-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir Manzoor Ahmed Shah, and Hurriyat leader Mushtaq-ul-Islam, who all voiced their commitment to the cause of Kashmiri independence.
