Srinagar: Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has reiterated the ongoing struggle of the people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir for a just and peaceful solution to the long-standing Kashmir dispute, aligning with their aspirations for self-determination.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz issued this call on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, highlighting the systematic human rights violations resulting from the prolonged conflict. He emphasized the need for urgent international attention to address these issues.
The APHC leader appealed to international human rights organizations and the United Nations Secretary-General to recognize the gravity of the situation and work towards achieving justice and peace in the region. He stressed the importance of international intervention to address the conflict.
Mirwaiz expressed gratitude to the people and Government of Pakistan for their unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support. He noted that this solidarity strengthens the resolve of Kashmiris in their peaceful pursuit of inherent rights and called for meaningful dialogue to resolve the dispute in accordance with the Kashmiri people’s wishes.
