Kashmir Freedom Struggle to Persist Until Self-Determination Achieved, Says APHC-AJK

Rawalpindi: The Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK), Ghulam Muhammad Safi, has emphasized that Kashmiris will persist in their struggle until they secure their right to self-determination as recognized internationally.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, addressing an event organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell in Rawalpindi, identified India’s stance as the primary barrier to implementing the United Nations resolution. Safi asserted that Jammu and Kashmir is not part of India, as the UN Security Council resolutions recognize the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

Safi criticized India’s longstanding position on occupied Jammu and Kashmir at international forums, labeling it as contrary to facts. He expressed that Kashmiris reject India’s forcible occupation and accused India of committing war crimes in the region, despite its image as a democratic nation.

He further condemned India’s celebration of Republic Day, describing it as a mockery of democracy while thousands of Kashmiris remain detained for advocating their rights. Safi argued that a nation occupying Jammu and Kashmir against the will of its people should not be considered democratic.

The event saw significant attendance from students of Rawalpindi and Islamabad universities, with notable figures such as Raja Khan Afsar Khan, Sardar Sajid Mahmood, and others present.
