Kashmir dispute still on UN Charter

New York, January 31, 2023 (PPI-OT):The United Nations Secretary General has repeatedly reiterated that the Kashmir dispute issue is still on the UN Charter and he is concerned about the human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. These views were expressed today by the UN Assistant Secretary for Political and Peace Affairs, Mohamed Khaled Khiari, and the UN Assistant Secretary for Human Rights Commission, Ilze Brands Kehris, in a detailed meeting with President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, in New York.

The AJK President said the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres should speed up his efforts for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute because India has started large-scale changes in IIOJK since 5 August 2019. Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry also gave a detailed briefing to the top officials of the UN on the Kashmir dispute and the latest situation in the occupied territory.
