Kashmir Council in Sweden Advocates for Peaceful Resolution to Kashmir Conflict

Stockholm: At a recent event hosted by the Kashmir Council, speakers called for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in Kashmir. The gathering focused on advocating for an end to human rights abuses in the region and stressed the importance of providing Kashmiri leaders with opportunities to share their perspectives on international platforms.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Sweden, Bilal Hayee, highlighted the historical context of the issue, noting that the conflict began when India deployed its army to the State of Jammu and Kashmir without the consent of its people. He reiterated the United Nations Security Council’s stance that the future of Kashmir should be determined through a plebiscite supervised by the UN, reflecting the will of the Kashmiri people.

The event underscored the urgency of resolving the dispute through diplomatic and peaceful means, aligning with international legal norms.
