Brussels, A special ceremony was held in Brussels to honor Ali Raza Syed, Chairman of the Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), for receiving a prominent human rights award. The event celebrated his contributions to advocating for the rights of Kashmiris on an international level, especially in Europe.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the reception was organized by the Pakistan Press Club Belgium and various European-Pakistani social organizations, including Ittefaq Welfare Society Belgium, EU Pak Belgium Federation, Pak Belge Welfare Association, and Pak Socio Cultural Association. Last month, the Human Rights Council of Pakistan recognized Ali Raza Syed at its annual award ceremony in Islamabad for his dedication to human rights, particularly in raising awareness about the plight of oppressed Kashmiris.
The event in Brussels saw participation from many Pakistanis and Kashmiris residing in Europe. Speakers at the ceremony lauded Ali Raza Syed’s efforts in championing the Kashmir cause globally.
During the ceremony, Ali Raza Syed expressed his gratitude to the Pakistan Press Club Belgium and other hosting organizations. He highlighted the ongoing human rights issues in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), including the alleged genocide of Kashmiris, extrajudicial killings, illegal imprisonment, target killings, fake encounters, enforced disappearances, desecration of women, and other crimes against humanity by Indian forces.
Syed reaffirmed his commitment to continue raising awareness about the Kashmir issue and exposing what he described as the brutal tactics of India in violating the rights of Kashmiris. He emphasized the need for the international community to take an active role in addressing and halting the human rights violations occurring in Kashmir.
The recognition of Ali Raza Syed’s work and the ceremony in Brussels underscore the ongoing international concerns regarding the Kashmir dispute and the human rights situation in the region. Syed’s call to action reflects the broader desire for increased global intervention and support to resolve the longstanding issues in Kashmir.
