Islamabad: The Chairperson of Friends of Kashmir, Ms. Ghazala Habib Khan, met with Federal Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, at the Parliament House.
The discussions focused on the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir dispute, highlighting serious human rights violations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Both leaders emphasized the importance of international involvement in addressing these issues.
Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting their right to self-determination. He appealed to the international community to play a significant role in ensuring that the people of Jammu and Kashmir receive their rights as outlined in United Nations resolutions.
Ms. Khan briefed the Chairman on the international awareness campaign spearheaded by Friends of Kashmir, which aims to amplify the voice of the Kashmiri people on the global stage.
Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon commended the efforts of Friends of Kashmir, stressing that engagement from civil society and public organizations is crucial for effectively bringing the Kashmir issue to global attention.
Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Abdul Hameed Lone was also in attendance during the meeting, adding his voice to the discussions.
