Kargil: A large crowd gathered in Kargil, Ladakh, within the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, to mourn the assassination of Hezbollah leader Syed Hassan Nasrallah, which they labeled a breach of international humanitarian law.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the memorial procession was organized by the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) Kargil, drawing thousands who expressed their solidarity with Palestine and opposition to American and Israeli actions. Mourners carried flags and images of Nasrallah, chanting slogans that praised his resistance and declared his death a significant blow to his adversaries.
Sheikh Sadiq Rajai, the Executive Chairman of IKMT, addressed the assembly, proclaiming that Nasrallah’s death would ultimately lead to the weakening of American and Israeli positions in the region. The procession, which started at Hussaini Park and ended at Jama Masjid Kargil, also featured speeches by notable community leaders, including Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai, who commended Nasrallah’s enduring influence on resistance movements.
The gathering not only commemorated Nasrallah but also symbolized the broader sentiment in Kargil against foreign occupation, marking an ongoing defiance that has deep roots in the region’s history and collective memory.
