Karachi: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is set to initiate 105 development projects valued at Rs. 11 billion this month, following a high-level meeting led by Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab. The announcement marks a significant advancement in the city’s infrastructure efforts.
During the meeting at KMC’s head office, Director General Technical Services, Tariq Mughal, provided a detailed briefing on the status of current and upcoming projects. Mughal highlighted that KMC has secured Rs. 29 billion in development schemes from the Sindh Government for the fiscal year, planning 166 projects for completion within this period. Last year, 73 schemes were successfully completed, with 45 more nearing completion this year.
Mayor Wahab stressed the importance of adhering to high construction standards, ensuring transparency, and executing projects timely. He instructed officials to maintain quality control and vigilance, particularly during the monsoon season, to avoid disruptions and ensure public safety.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Municipal Commissioner S. M. Afzal Zaidi, Financial Advisor Gulzar Abro, and Director Media Daniyal Siyal. Mayor Wahab reiterated KMC’s dedication to accelerating Karachi’s development and delivering tangible results to its citizens.
