Karachi to Implement Free Parking at 32 KMC Sites by July 2025

Karachi: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced that parking fees will be abolished at 32 designated sites across the city starting July 1, 2025. The move, initiated by Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, aims to alleviate financial burdens and enhance convenience for the city’s residents.

The specified locations for free parking span several districts. In District East, areas include Rashid Minhas Road and Allama Shabbir Ahmed Usmani Road. Other sites are in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Shahrah-e-Faisal, and Shaheed-e-Millat Road. District Central will see free parking near Liaquatabad Super Market and along S.M. Toufeeq Road, among others.

District South’s M.A. Jinnah Road will have free parking in front of Jillani Centre Mobile Market. In District Korangi and Malir, locations include the Main National Highway and Main Korangi Road. Free parking will also be available in District West and Keamari at sites like Hub River Road.

However, charges will remain at certain KMC-owned boundary or covered areas. These include Sindbad in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, A.O Clinic Parking in Nazimabad, and several covered areas in Clifton.

To ensure compliance and manage traffic flow, the Director City Warden has been tasked with deploying wardens at the designated sites.
