Karachi to Host 29th International Mushaira, Emphasizing Cultural Renaissance

Karachi, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab emphasized the importance of literary and cultural events in enriching the city’s life, announcing support for the upcoming 29th International Mushaira. This event, known for attracting poets globally, highlights Karachi’s role as a cultural hub, fostering academic and literary exchanges.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the meeting between Mayor Karachi and the delegation from Sakinan-e-Shahar-e-Quaid, led by management committee head Ali Hassan Sajid, focused on the city’s preparations for the International Mushaira. The mayor expressed enthusiasm for the event, noting its significance in enhancing Karachi’s global image and promoting local arts and culture. The municipality plans to provide comprehensive support, including logistics and facilities management, to ensure the event’s success.

The International Mushaira, a flagship cultural event in Karachi since 1989, draws literary figures from across the world, reflecting the city’s rich academic and cultural heritage. Mayor Wahab stressed the need for such gatherings, particularly in today’s technology-driven world, to maintain and nurture social and cultural interactions.
