Karachi Police to Enhance City Security with Fencing and Checkpoints

Karachi, In a strategic move to bolster security within the city, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon chaired a meeting at the Central Police Office in Karachi focusing on enhancing monitoring systems at key points, including the Northern Bypass.

According to Sindh Police, the meeting was attended by high-ranking officials such as DIGs and AIGs, where the necessity of a robust monitoring system was emphasized to curtail the movement of criminals using the city’s entry and exit points. IG Memon ordered the establishment of police checkpoints and the deployment of personnel equipped with body-worn cameras along various crucial internal and external routes.

The meeting also discussed detailed plans for installing fences along these routes to prevent criminal activities. With these measures, IG Memon expressed expectations of a significant reduction in crime rates across Karachi. He directed all district police officers to ensure that police posts on highways in their respective districts are operational and well-staffed to effectively manage and monitor these areas.
