Karachi Police Discusses Expansion of Safe City Project and Strategies for Improved Law Enforcement

Karachi, Senior Management Course (SMC) officers from the National Institute of Management Karachi, led by Chief Instructional Institute Abdul Khaliq Shaikh, visited the Central Police Office and met with Inspector General of Police Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon. The visit provided insights into the law enforcement strategies and the ongoing efforts to bolster public safety across the region.

According to Sindh Police, the meeting served as an opportunity for the 38 officers of the 35th SMC to understand the challenges and actions of Sindh Police concerning law enforcement and public order. Discussions covered the operational strategies and the successes in combatting crime within the province, including the support extended by the Government of Sindh.

Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon shared updates on the Karachi Safe City project, emphasizing its initial launch in Karachi and future expansion to other cities like Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, and Larkana. He highlighted the installation of fences and surveillance cameras as measures to enhance city security. Additionally, Memon mentioned ongoing efforts against street crime and the expected improvement in law enforcement capabilities.

During the visit, a commemorative shield was exchanged, marking the collaboration and shared goals between the Sindh Police and the National Institute of Management. The event also included briefings on people-friendly policing strategies and the positive societal impacts anticipated from these initiatives.
